Humcancelling J's

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the overwhelming consensus seems to indicate:
Single coil sounding humbuckers on a budget: DiMarzio Area J
Single coil sounding humbuckers boutique: Nordstrant, Fralin, or Aguilar.
I'm aware that this thread is over two years old, but I just swapped out the D'marzio Ultra Jazz pups for the Area J's and I'm so glad I did. It's true what they say about the Ultra Jazzes having that "scooped" sound to them, and that's what I liked about them AT FIRST, but they're not "vintage" sounding at all, but you can get some really good growl when you favor the bridge pup; but for a much more vintage tone, the D'marzio Area J is definitely the way to go, great midrange growl and even sounding across the strings I'll probably put a set in another Jazz Bass as well; very happy with them.
