Humidifier for Rickenbacker 4003

hello all,
I've got a Rickendacker 4003 jet glow black and absolutely LOVE IT!!! I am located up in the Pac NW (Portland Or) and the band is hitting the road down to the SW desert area in a couple weeks. I am originally from Arizona and fully aware of the desert heat and the damage it can do to just about anything and everything. I want to protect my Ric from the moisture sucking heat and was thinking of a case humidifier. We'll be down that way for about a week touring in a van and just want to be sure that heat won't damage my baby. Any of you fine folks have any suggestions for this situation? Was thinking a case humidifier would be perfect but also though I'd check with y'all.

The bass will be in its case until showtime then back in after. Any and all suggestions / advice greatly appreciated.

Many thanx,
-Pod-

Hate to say it - but somebody will - if you are that worried about it, you shouldn't take it on the road.

What kinda bass player would I be if I left that beautiful ax at home?! Haha. I've taken her on the road. She just has never been to the desert before. I had an issue with a stack of skateboards that warped durring the two day drive to Phoenix. Just lookn out for the Ric sake.

If you can't find anything else, get a plastic travel soap dish, poke a few holes in the lid, and keep a damp (not wet) sponge in there. Put it in the case. Check sponge daily.

PERFECT! DIY solutions rule!! Many thanx for that idea. (Why didn't I think of it? Haha). Hopefully this info could be of use to others.

Thanx,
