I am getting a buzz

Hello... New guy here once again. I bought a Squier VM 70's bass. I really like this bass but I do have a question. When I play an open E and A string the bass sounds just fine. But when I play wether of those two strings pressed down anywhere on the fret board I get a buzz when I pluck the string. I hope I explained myself good. Am I playing wrong or do I need to adjust anything. I bought this guitar new and I am pretty sure no adjusting was done. It seems the D and G strings play fine when pressing down on the strings. Sounds like an intonation and truss rod adjustment is in-order

Is there a place online could help me with those adjustments. Being a huge pens fan since the late eighties, I think the pens will win tomorrow night at the Igloo, but will lose game 7 in Detroit.

Raise the saddles before messing up with the truss rod, it may be not necessary.

Yes. Do so though in small increments. A small change in height can make a big difference sometimes.

I have a Squier 70's J and I LOVE IT TO DEATH but the necks on those things suck soooooo bad when it comes to intonation.

I would recommend letting a store do it, its just less hassle and some will adjust your truss rod for free since it just takes a minute, if they wont then offer to buy some strings or something to put some money into their store. After you get it fixed, make sure you use the same gauge strings and you SHOULDN'T have a problem with intonation in the future. The other thing is be wary of laying it on its neck in weird positions because that will make it go outta whack pretty easy. Great basses, but the necks are pretty fragile =/
