Ever since I first saw this bass when I was 13 I wanted it. i remember a buddy of mine got it for Christmas and he was jamming with his band and he let me rock it.It produced so much power through that amp.it was thunderous!i was only 13 maybe 14 I had no $$ but I wanted the bass soo bad.Anyway they discontinued it I believe in 03 or 04 somewhere around there. SO a few months back I came across one at the local gc.well once again I was broke.13 years later, but this time do to having bills to pay.so when I had the $ finally,i go to buy it and it gone(SOLD)!F*CK!!SO I type it in on the "search" on the guitar center website. and there were about 8 or so of them.well I blow my $ and im broke AGAIN and cant buy.Well finally i'm selling my landscaping business anmd I came into a little $.10 long years and i'm done with landscaping!FINALLY!!I went to GC today and one was on the wall.BOUGHT IT and it's about 2AM and I just finished jamming with it.LOVE IT!the neck is fast, easy, and thin. The bass looks cool as hell and sounds like thunder!so happy!and i'm broke LOL

I saw an Ergodyne for the first time in person 6 or 7 years ago- it was the funky shaped EDA900. I always wanted to get that bass but having young kids and the expenses that came along with parenthood made it a future endeavor. The best I could do was to buy this lighter I saw that was shaped like one and keep it as a reminder to pick one up in the future.lol...
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I picked up a number of Ergodynes the past couple of years, I've since cut down to just two as I had to trim down my collection- initially planned to keep just one Ergodyne but I just picked up an EDC700 that was selling for $149, far too tempting.
The EDB600 is a terrific bass with a wonderful sound, and way underrated, most people couldn't accept luthite as a material so Ergodyne basses didn't get the proper recognition they really deserve. (Ibanez later made Ergodyne with wood bodies for a short while but then cut the model series altogether).
They're some of the best values out there to be honest with you, every now and then, prices go below the $150 mark. My EDA900 was $129. My EDC700, again at $149.
Congrats on your purchase and enjoy that bass! Probably good you bought it when you did because they may start disappearing soon from the used market, finding an EDC700 used to be fairly easy, now it's getting much harder. I'd love to eventually pick up another EDB600 if I can make room and find one in white.

the only remaining Ergodynes in my collection are the two on the left hand side.

My "reminder" doodad and the actual bass bought many years later.

yeah, thanx man..i have been seeing these bass's less and less.pretty soon they will be extinct.right now they're an endangered species.I do plan on getting one more edb600 though.i just want 2 just in case something were to ever happen to mine.i used it at band practice the other night and boy was I impressed. This bass is loud, thunderous, and powerful.its defenitly the extension my soul.i've never had a bass that I was in love with.i will own 1 more.and also in the white color.i used to have an edb400 and that was a cool little bass but it had nuthin on the edb600

glad you've finally managed to snag one, and that you love it.

there's an ibanez that has been slipping through my fingers for ages, actually. those old Blazers/Roadstars are great but every time i see one on ebay, i'm broke.

Outstanding!

I haven't tried the EDB600, but if they are anything like the EDC700 then you are in for a treat. I had an EDC700, and I liked it way more then my SR800. One of the few basses that I regret selling was the EDC700, for sure. Maybe I will get another one in the near future.
