It all depends on what you want out of these things. The 'arrow-through-the-head' building schtick is funny and makes interesting art pieces and instagram fodder, but there's no reason you can't also go over the little fine details that make something perfectly playable and develop and apply lutherie skills in the process. You can turn the end of a fretboard into a zero fret if that helps for sure. I'm curious about a sideways body and neck joint, the same way I like a millenium falcon bass or guitar made from skateboards. Maybe you'll have to use a mandolin sized scale neck. :D You could always move into multi-necks too.

I think... I think I want the playability of my first build here. It's definitely funky looking but the balance and feel were awesome. So... Playable like that one but that looks well made and sounds nice. I am learning different things as I go along but I do keep having issues with the nut end.

I don't want or need mine to have veneers or fancy through necks. For me for now that's not the point. The point is that I just don't like classic guitar shapes. Eastwood sells/sold plenty of things that at least look somewhat different but most of their available offerings still feel way too pedestrian for me... So my option is making them!

I'm avoiding funny scales for now as I really am trying to get the whole playing thing down and the muscle memory should work better if sticking to one size. Right?
