I did a bad thing.

I came home with yet another bass. With my health, I probably can’t tour any more. “Might” be able to do local shows in central Texas, but not guaranteed. So I didn’t have any real reason to buy the bass other than it’s a phenomenal instrument that just felt “right” in my hands.

Warmoth body and neck - swamp ash body, Birdseye maple neck
EMG Pickups /preamp - vol, blend, bass, treble
Hipshot hardware - bass , tuners
Weighs 8.5 lbs

It’s a truly awesome bass. I’m not sure if I’ll keep it, but I have a little time to decide with GC return policy. And I may end up selling a different bass to “justify” keeping this one.

Hmmm… 🤔 decisions, decisions.

This is forgivable. Passing on a 1965 Gretsch 6070 bass for $300, is not.,
In my earlier post I did not mean to imply that I had passed on a $300 6070, although I did miss a $1000 6070 by one day. And that bass was barely an hour's drive away. And then there was the 6070 I passed on twice while I was in high school, the first time for $150 and the second for $75. :banghead:

Gorgeous bass friend. Keep it!

Man…we are a great group of bass lovers! I love all the justifiers and enablers here. 😂😂

My wife asks how many more (I have six). My response, “Just one more”. 😂

A cowboy must have more than one pistol is my other response. 🤠
Careful. Your wife may hire that cowboy who has more than one pistol to take target practice on your six, one round for each bass.

You're on Talkbass. Buying a bass you don't need is not a "bad" thing, it's behavior the folks here....applaud. Mostly because, in a few weeks, one or more of us is gonna go buy something we don't need, and we want you to reciprocate. It's a social contract, a fundamental part of this enablement club.

Everyone clear on this? Good.
If every member of TalkBass traded in every one of their basses for a donor Jersey Mike's sub, world hunger could be stamped out in the blink of an eye.

I'm over 70. Who knows if I'll continue to gig. So what did I do on February 28th of this year? Bought a '69 Fender Telecaster bass for close to 5 grand. And I don't really play 4 string basses anymore! I started playing that one though; it's so cool. I decided to live a little in my old age. I may not be able to take it with me, but I'll sure try to have as much fun as I can before I leave!
