I flipped my lid ... (BeatBuddy Velcro)

I just received my BB and discovered it has this rubber pad on the bottom, with a label too, which I don’t like since this works poorly with Velcro.

If you can accept modifying the pedal you can flip the bottom lid - probably a known trick for most of you but maybe some pictures are still interesting to those who haven’t considered doing it.

Drill a new hole as a mirror image of the existing one. Countersink the new hole and the two at the other end for a flat surface.

Trim off a little rubber to allow the lid to sit flat.

Reattach the lid with the rubber now inside the pedal, add Velcro. Done!

Probably a better idea; I’ve destroyed some when trying that though, and I didn’t want to risk the label.

The only pedal I’ve had that issue with, is the Boss AB2.

Unfortunately, the housing design doesn’t allow for the bottom plate to be flipped.

That design with the rubber base really doesn’t work for velcro. Very annoying. Same for the boss FS-6.

Several volume and expression pedals have rubber pads on the bottom too; some lids can be reversed, others not. Clever manufacturers should design in this ”flippability”.

I hate it when manufacturers do counterintuitive stuff. My latest pedal has rounded screws on the bottom. Like.....why?
