I guess I can no longer whine

I’ve been jealous of all the great/cheap finds that my fellow TBers have gotten off CL lately,
because none have come my way.
But Saturday there was a green Gretsch Jr Jet for $100 that look new, and I passed on it.

I have 5 short scales and 1 sub shorty which is my current project.
I told my wife the Gretsch won’t last very long,
but I got busy and actually forgot about it, and when I remembered, it was gone.

I keep saying I don’t need another bass period, let alone another SS.
The last one on CL was red and $180, and I told myself I have enough red basses,
but I think I screwed myself this time.

Lol, hang in there buddy!

I’ve got about the same number of basses (1 more if you count my two acoustics) — it’s enough. Doesn’t mean I don’t want more (‘cuz there are in fact one or two more that I sometimes think about..), but simultaneously I also occasionally want less. Anyway, we’ll both survive, I’m guessin’!

I'd be bummed to miss out on one of these for $100 too, but I'm consumed with grief over my own personal disaster to commiserate all that much after watching a sweet LTD F-4E walk away last month for $200 cos I was suddenly short on bux... I'd waited desperately 2yrs for the improbable opportunity for a local buy after getting screwed over on the 5 string version for $150 when I thot I wanted a 5 and having to eat the bigger disappointment on a 4 string has been infuriating. today is payday and I'm looking to sooth the rage with a sympathy rebound bass lol fortunately I already have it in the form of my Silvertone LB11 which will be very hard to even match. but I've heard great things on those little Gretsch G2220s, maybe we'll both get lucky soon!

I also missed out a deal last weekend so I feel your pain.

I found a used Squier Mustang on GC's site for $169! Went to buy it later when I couldn't resist and it was gone.

Did we need them? No, of course not, but missing out a deal like that is still sorta painful.

Those Squier Mustang are hard to come by.
People are holding on to them, I've only seen one used.

At first, I couldn't get use to the maple neck.
After they were discontinued, I felt foolish for not getting one.
Back then, I was GASN' for a Mustang Big Time, but I have one now.

I did not make the same mistake with my SS VM Jag, people are holding those as well.

Yeah, they just never come up. I have my 2 Musicmasters and always thought a Mustang would be cool. But I just waited too long, should have jumped on it right away.

My daughter has been looking for a Squier Mustang as she graduates up from her little Ibanez Mikro. They are pretty scarce and the price seems to be going up on them.

I keep getting the itch to get something 'new'. I'm happy with my #1 and don't really expect to find anything I like better. But I still got the itch. Keep telling myself if I'm gonna look, it should at least be something really different that fills a need, like a 5 string. But I keep looking at Thunderbirds and Talmans. . . And acrylics... It's a problem...
