I Hate Ticketmaster.

Haha. That sucks. Check out the price for those CSNY tickets!!

Ticketmaster is extremely convenient, and I guess the market dictates that people are willing to pay those surcharges (I often am. However, I always choose the cheapest way to get tickets. Dont they offer a free option?). Going to the box office just doesnt seem worth my time or money most of the time (esp since I like to go to shows that are pretty far away).

IIRC, Pearl Jam had a big problem with Ticket Master back at the height of their fame. Didn't they try to take em to court or something?

I, personally, wouldn't pay over 20 bucks for ANY show.

Bands like, Fugazi, are great cuz they refuse to have more than a 5 dollar ticket price. I think the Stones and Madonna could take a lesson from them!

Man, I just got tickets to a Tool show and Ticketmaster's extra fees amounted to almost $20 extra PER TICKET.

It's basically extortion, but unfortunately I don't know any other good way to get tickets. And even with the charges, it's still cheaper than getting scalped tickets.

My brother invited me to the Tool show in Dallas. After hearing the price I told him that both he and Tool could go to Hell.

As a previous poster stated: I have a cap on what I'm willing to pay. For me it's $30, unless multiple bands are involved, then I splurge to about $40. Even so, i only catch about 1 major act every 2 years. I don't miss the sweaty strangers, the drunken fights, the mosh-pit-of-death that opens up right next to me, the million-dollar beer and the hearing loss that seems to last for about a week now.

I don't just blame Ticketmaster. The band is at fault, too. I've seen a band for $12.50 in August and then watched tickets go on sale for $35 six months (and one radio hit) later.

I say stop complaining and stop buying.

Oh well, I guess I just took the jump for it and bought a ticket for $34.5 during lunch at work. I come home to find an email from a guy I email'd the day before who said he had 2 tickets for $50...so I feel like an idiot.

And then I find that Underoath dropped from the rest of the tour. Now its like...where am I gonna ge tmy butt kicked in a pit now? >_>

I saw Alice Cooper on the 20th. Tickets were $25 a piece and I didn't want to put up with Ticketmaster's extortion so I got them at the pavilion where he was playing. They charged no fees for picking them up.... Took my 14 year old daughter to her first concert and we had a great time.

In Brisbane ,Australia,(about 3 milliom people in the area) when a single U2 gig tickets came on line, Ticketmaster had already sold thousands of tickets to either scalpers or government workers an hour before on thier cable connection which gave them priority and effectively locked out Ticketmasters website to Broadband and dial-up users for two hours. Since there were only about 35,000 tickets, in the two hours nearly all were sold out.

yep I hate Ticketmaster
