Double Bass I have some Ken Smith Pro Polish...

...and I was wondering if this is okay for use on my Wilfer. There are no ingredients listed so I can't be certain if there are any waxes in the product.

If this is not okay, would plain lemon oil be okay? I've read it is standard procedure to use essential.

Just wipe the dust off with a clean cotton cloth.

I do keep rosin dust cleaned off regularly, but I also sweat a lot when playing and would like to use a more intensive cleaner. I don't, however, wish to create a build up on the instrument.

Slightly dampen the cotton cloth with warm water.

Both Upton and Kolstein sell products deemed safe for DB finishes. They're fine to use occasionally. The conventional wisdom is to use a plain cloth most of the time as you describe is your routine.
