Ok, somebody liked my previous post, so here it is:
It's a Traynor YBA100. It's designed to take 4x 6L6GC or EL34, but because I like clean, and like clear lows, it's running 2X Sovtek 6550WE (with 8R load in the 4R tap). ["Don't try this at home unless you're a certified electrical engineer", I feel required to say.]
The preamp is somewhere in the neighborhood of an Ampeg (James/Bax bass and treble, 40Hz/4kHz (like this very much)), but the mids are done with op amps

(just kidding. not really actually horrified) and the freq is variable instead of switched.
It should be cleaner than usual (and I like this too) because each voltage gain stage in the preamp (two of them) is followed immediately, directly by a current gain (buffer) stage (like just before the tone stack of an old Marshall). I can't remember the name for this pairing of two triodes. Can anyone tell me?
The phase splitting is also done with op amps (so I presume that it's symmetrical and well-behaved), into two halves of a 12ax7. (The YBA300 - which has 12 power tubes to drive - also has a current gain stage after each half of the driver, so probably compresses even less at high power.)
Output is "ultralinear", so my ears perk up when you guys mention this. In addition to that (one of whose functions is to serve as a form of negative feedback), it also has a typical NFB loop back to the splitter. A "Resonance" button can disable this loop (in the lows only), but I like to keep it.
Now I'll claim that this post is on topic by telling you where I got the tubes. I borrowed them from my SVT-CL. Among all the other virtues of the SVT, it also serves as a safe place to store lots of power tubes (until the stormtroopers come and confiscate them, but I digress).
