This past summer, while on a trip to FL, I bought a bass from a Largo, FL based builder Elvir Spahic (“Spahic Basses”). The NBD thread on that bass can be found here:

That bass has since been through dozens of gigs, has gotten more compliments than any other in my 30 years of playing, and I am quite certain now that it may be buried with me one day. Since coming to this realization, my other basses have been slowly going up for sale and I have been pondering a custom order for a 2nd Spahic bass, making some minor changes to best suit my needs and preferences. I pulled that trigger a few weeks ago, and the progress photos are starting to come in!
The original bass that I bought has the following specs:
-Maple top, Zebra Wood body, Wenge fretboard
-Single Cut / Through-Neck design (Maple + Wenge strips)
-Countered body
-Carbon Fiber reinforced neck
-Nordstrand Big Split 5 pickups
-Bartolini TCT Vintage 3-band preamp with TCT Mid Boost Add on
-Controls: Vol/Vol/ Treb/Bass/Mid + 3-way adjustable mid switch
-Gotoh tuners
-Warwick bridge
-Warwick Adjustable nut
My build order has the following (changes in bold):
-Claro Walnut body (solid wings), Wenge fretboard
-Single Cut / through-Neck design (Maple + Wenge strips)
-Countered body
-Carbon Fiber reinforced neck
-Nordstrand Big Split 5 pickups
-Nordstrand 2B-4C preamp
-Controls: Vol (pull passive) / Blend / Bass+Treb Stacked / Passive Tone
-Gotoh tuners
-Warwick bridge
-Warwick Adjustable nut
-Custom emblem (in tribute to my father)
-Custom wood knobs
Like a true nerd, I generated AI images (complete with hallucinations) of the proposed bass for Elvir to go off of. My bass is on the left and the build concept is on the right:

In his final years, I found this crown showing up on random things he owned: scribbles on paper, painted on a garage wall and even burned onto his leather boots! Hoping to make this my "forever bass," I thought that adding the crown is only fitting.
