To go completely off topic, this () is the video that made me decide I would have to learn DB or shrivel up and die. Since I didn't particularly feel like shriveling up and dieing I picked up the DB.

i think because that part involved so many notes that you have to cut down the low end to keep the note clarity anyway the bowed parts also sounded insane!

Also, the bass and oud are playing in unison if I'm not mistaken. Awesome video!

If you listen to his more recent stuff since his album 'One More Angel' he is an absolute genius - agreed that before that he was a bit too flashy, but check out his albums 'Reverence' or 'Now'. They are seriously imaginative and mature jazz albums. Obviously it's quite a subjective matter but I think they will probably change your mind, they changed mine
