Good for you. Not everyone is so lucky.
I remember when I thought I was "deep".
17 was alright. 28 is much better, though.

And 45 is not as good as 28. It's all downhill Matticus.![]()

At what age did you peak? Things still seem on the up and up at the moment.

But the topic here is 17.
30 years ago there were no US wars going on to worry about. Gas was cheap. Global warming wasn't a concern. Overall, things were going along swimmingly in this country.
I played bass in a heavy metal band and practiced a lot. I had a huge Peavey rig and was strong enough to actually move it. Since gas was so cheap, my friends and I used to race our trucks around on the local logging roads. Growing up in a small town, I used to fish and hunt a lot and would be considered a something of a hick nowadays.
I didn't do weed, but I did drink a lot back then. I recall having a taste for McNaughton's Canadian whiskey. Fortunately had the good sense to not drive while drunk.
Now I've gotten old and incredibly boring. I mean, I don't do anything anymore that could make for even a half-interesting story.

Depends how you use it.
+1. The only thing I'd want from back then is my athleticism. I'm in good shape now at 50, but nothing like I was at 17. I do miss the feeling of running fast and jumping high without fear of straining something. Overall, though - 50 trumps 17.I'm 50 and things get better every year. I would not go back to 17 for all the tea in china.
