I rig Hd or i rig in general with amplitube

Has anyone moved from the old i rig to the i rig HD?

ok I know this isnt serious recording gear.

I used to have a decent set up before my house was broken into and they got my apple which was complete with pro tools
and Reason. and a full cadre of Native instruments and Spectrasconics. software.

I also currently have a tascam HD8 track

but sometimes I just want a note pad. something to quickly scratch out an idea.
perhaps i am learning a new bass line. and want to see how it fits with a guitar part.
that is Exactly what this amplitube thing is.

I will be honest. I rarely used my pro tools I guess I never got used to the whole digital virtual faders.

so until I rebuild my recording studio..

I think I will have fun with this Irig

So..... again my question is has anyone tried The HD i rig

is it that much cleaner? is it worth the extra 80.00?

I switched to the iRig HD and the tone was noticeably better. Less noise during recording and more controllable volume with the gain control. I do a lot of home recording using Bias and JamUp, as well as playing live with only an iOS rig. The HD was definitely worth the extra coin.
