I think ive finally finished modding my bass...

Well its been 3 years in the making, but i think ive finally finished messing with it.

It started as so-

A Japanese made precision copy Cimar from the early 80's.

And now it looks kinda different -

And it goes thusly-

Dimarzio Will power neck> hardwired in series to first output (with killswitch), Dimarzio Model P> volume pot>tone pot> second output, Seymour Duncan MM replacement> 3 way switch (parallel/single coil/series)> volume pot>tone pot>second output (with killswitch)

Pretty much standard wiring.

Billy Sheehan was my main inspiration.

Well the bass is meant to be used for stereo operation, and i never used the volume pot for it: i either had it turned all the way up or off.

Plus the pots i used are kinda cheap so they dont actually turn off the volume, but the killswitched remedy that.

Nice sheehanesque bass! Is that electrical tape over the poles?? If so, it'll get nasty over time. I used epoxy over the top of the pickup, just "deep" enough to cover the poles. Keeps the strings from hitting them, doesn't get nasty sticky gooey. You can use black and end up with that "emg" look, or clear and still see the poles. What neck did you put on it?? You mention the pickups and wiring. Left out the neck and schaller bridge.

Looks like a Mighty Mite neck to me. I don't think Warmoth does the skunk stripe, and I don't remember the details from MF.

I really like the finish. What's it look like under the pickguard?

You oughta put the other knobs on there, maybe get some nifty looking caps for the switches. I saw some switches that size at Radio Shack that had an LED in the tip.

What kinda amps are you running this through?

Its a very wide tone spectrum, it can go from extremely clear and trebley to extremly deep in a matter of moments.

Unfortunatley i havent been able to run it in stereo yet.

The tape is there because i dont really like the look of the pole pieces, but the epoxy is a very good idea!

i didnt mention the neck (which is a Mighty Mite) or bridge because i thoguht they were rather obvious, most people ususally jsut want to know about the pickups.

Thats how it came! i was quite surprised at how good it looks actaully. There are mny pieces stuck together, so its very strong.

Thats under the scrathplate, but it didnt have a clear coat on it at that time.

At the moment i only have a 30 watt amp

Thanks. The only stock parts are: the neck plate, the ground wire, the scrathplate and the body.
