Production Guitar makers are using younger and younger cuts of wood, with less time in the drying stage. A few weeks under in-store lighting will do nothing. If that bass had been in a dark cool room the same thing would have happened.

Easily fixed, thankfully.

It had been up there for 4.5-5 months like that, never taken down. The guy that got it down for me said he remembered it coming in and said it hadn't been touched the since. That thing was a mess. I moved on.
