i wants a B.C. Rich

Actually I am a metal head and I HATE B.C.Rich instruments, they look nothing but plain stupid to me :D I mean, IMO they're not cool at all, they just try desperately to be different from the mainstream Gibson/Fender style with all those goofy shapes probably inspired by some black metal band logos. Which means maybe I'll get a Warlock some day, paint it pink and put a Hello Kitty pickguard on it :D

Or maybe it's just those amateur metal head kids who think that playing a B.C.Rich makes them more metal than they'll ever really be... In guitars the Jackson RR is also awfully popular in here thanks to certain Alexi from a certain band called Children of Bodom...

I got your sarcasim, but Alexi plays his custom ESP's. (I know he used to play jackson). But I would have thought that Randy would have made the RR popular.

I would also hardly call Kerry king and Paolo Amature...

I was a big fan of B.C Rich back in the day, and I see nothing wrong with them now, but I would also look at a Schecter they have some fine basses also at around the same price. Hell what do I know I play a Bongo and people here say it looks like a toilet seat. Go for what make you happy, and looking cool on stage goes alot further than just playing well. People will alway remember what they have seen, but not what they heard. IMHO Kiss was not that great of a band as far as music, but man no one will ever forget the look. It is the look that really gets the people.

Sure Randy made it popular elsewhere, I was talking about Finland only. And that really happened before Alexi switched to ESP but of course it's ESP now. Well, I don't care too much anymore, besides it's soon 10 years since CoB released their last good album :D

cool thread!
Good debate...
I play a sadowsky and still love my mockingbird basses..
I think the body looks amazingly cool.
Which may sound superficial to some, but who cares?..
rock n roll..is..rock n roll,
Not suppose to be logical or make sense,
It's cool, that's enough.

My big problem with B.C. Rich basses isn't that they're goofy-looking (although they certainly aren't my visual cup of tea), but rather that I've never played one that balanced well. I think when you make a poorly-balancing bass, you're basically telling potential customers that you value the look of your instruments more than the playability. To me, that's unforgivable. Personally, if I felt the need to get a bass along the same lines as a B.C. Rich, I would be looking at the ESP LTD that somebody posted a picture of earlier in this thread.

You need to buy a customshop Bich,Widow,ST or Innovator then

All the others can be tamed with the use of a Wide leather strap
