I wasted money - don't throw away Tracking no.s!

I'm bummed.
-4+ weeks ago I bought a Nut on eBay and I also bought a Neck, or rather I decided not to buy the neck I thought I was going to and got another one.

3 weeks ago, the Nut maker was completely understanding and willing to replace the Nut for free if I returned the one

So, to the PO . . . long lines, PO closed, go three cities over on a Saturday wait in line for an hour and they put it into a "Priority" mailer.
I put the receipt with ALL my others in my truck.
foolishly I clean my truck

Wait a week, no Nut received.

I think to myself - 'this dudes gotta think I'm scamming him, what without a Tracking #'
and the Nut hadn't arrived.

So, to make it seem legit I say I am uncomfortable with you just sending one why don't I outright pay for another - which I do.

Now it's been weeks since I sent it and the Nut still has sttill not arrived at the Maker's place
- btw: I paid extra because I sent it Priority because i really want to finish this project!

So, now AI have to wait for the other and its sent Ground and I lost the other Nut

just a long story about throwing money away . . . sorry . . . bummed . . .

just goes to show you, don't be ADHD!

ok . . .
so it turns out you can get a Tracking# record from the PO - I just did it in person and she found it right away.

Now it gets weird: according to tracking the Nut arrived on the 23rd

Go to Welcome | USPS and type in the addresses, print pre-paid labels, and just drop it off at the PO. Even better, you can get them to pick up your package! (I'm too paranoid for that, though, I like to put it in the bin at the PO. ...and pick up free supplies for future shipments.) They also give you an online discount, and you can save your addresses. I think you still have to enter the tracking code to track them.

Also, if you sign up for "Informed Delivery" it can alert you of any/all packages coming USPS to your (home) address.

I send most things priority, cuz you get insurance and tracking with the cost of priority.

Sure they're like 14+ shipping, then the return is another 9-priority,
then also add another paid for at 14 plus shipping and I spent 30+20 = 50$

Yes, it shoulda not cost that much at all and should have taken less thana a week to be a complete tranbsaction - that together is the. problem . . yes a lot of hassle - that's the whole poit

and like I said the worst part - it's been 4 weeks and I have not a single nut though I paid for two.

That’s a bummer, sounds frustrating, GL.
I just use Amazon for bass parts, just a couple of days and I am up and running.

The saga has gone from my dumb forgetting of a Tracking # to the Nut Vendor giving a partial refund but still refusing to even answer whether or not I will get a nut . . . ie:
Q: is there a nut in the mail?
A: ( )

So going on week 6 and still my bass sits unfinished

I guess I'm only out $30 rather than $50

At what point of his not answering do I begin to petition Paypal for another refund? -I know this is what this guy is worried about - he thinks I never sent back the nut, which I know he lost, and he thinks I'll be ripping him off by refunding via Paypal . . . well, if he would answer my questions I wouldn't do that . . . damn

Anyone out there got a spare 1-11/16th nut (bone or brass) they can send pronto?!

the end of my the Saga which I have no right to force on you, but here goes anyway:

Vendor promised a final refund for all $$ paid
but then never followed through

I was then forced to to to Paypal and demand a refund

so, I went to the only Luthier in town where I could buy a nut, but since tney wouldn't sell me anything bnut a blank, I'm lpaying for a full-on installation and a set-up ($150)

Anyway - I usually like to do things in order to learn how to do them, so I usually do my own half-baked set-ups, but I suppose it will be nice to have it done by someone who knows what they're doing

and I had work done by this Luthier shop before and they are Ultra-Top-Notch

so, despite the fact I wanted my Bass finished 7-weeks ago, I'll still wait two more weeks, but I think I will like it when it's done.
