Edit: SR1825 is sold! The SR1305 is sold!

I'm selling my Ibanez Premium 'Ying Yang twins' (that's a made up name). For sale individually but a buyer wants both I will make a deal and include a TKL double gig bag ($275 value).

I utilized these basses with a regionally touring function band. They saw a lot of travel (always cased and secured) and stage use, but are very good condition cosmetically, although could use a fresh set of strings and setup to the new owner's specifications. They covered all popular styles of music and and excelled in all. These basses with the Nordstrand Big Singles are described as 'jazz bass on steroids', and that's not wrong. Tone can go from smooth and glassy slap, to thumping fingerstyle to grindy rock. Both are very light weight for a 5 string at 8.25lbs.

Ibanez Premium Series SR1305 5 String bass. $700 plus shipping (CONUS only) - SOLD!

Mahogany body, Ash top, Wenge/Bubinga neck, Panga Panga fingerboard. Fast playing, excellent feeling and great sounding bass. Nordstrand Big Singles pickups with very versatile active Ibanez 3-band preamp with passive bypass. All black hardware, which I believe was originally a Sweetwater exclusive. Has Dunlop strap lock buttons installed, but can be used with standard strap (which I did). Like the 1825 above, this bass could use new strings and a setup to new owners specs.

Included is a lightweight gig bag (not pictured).

Quick run-through of the various passive/active, EQ and pickup combinations of the SR1305. Sorry about the video angle. :/

Ibanez Premium Series SR1825 String bass. $650 plus shipping (CONUS only) SOLD!

Mahogany body, Walnut/Flamed Maple top, Panga Panga/Purpleheart neck, Panga Panga fingerboard. Fast playing, excellent feeling and great sounding bass. Nordstrand Big Singles pickups with very versatile active Ibanez 3-band preamp with passive bypass. Gold hardware, low gloss finish.

I originally purchased this bass from a seller who deals in professionally refurnished factory 2nds. So this bass was check over by a high-volume instrument refurbisher in Nashville prior to my ownership. It has some cosmetic blemishes, most notably some notching/scarring of the wood between the frets along the edge of the neck/fingerboard (pictured). This scarring is visible up close and notable to the touch, but in my experience is not noticeable at all when playing the instrument. The blemishes are only on the edge, the back of the neck is smooth and fast. I also had a local tech replace the volume/tone pot harness and the battery clip. At that time I had it set up by a local tech, but at this point it could use a fresh set of strings and a setup to the new owner's specifications

Included is a lightweight gig bag (not pictured).

Fretboard on 1825 looks like wenge to me. Side bindings might be rosewood.

If you still have the 1825 at the end of the month we need to talk. It looks like another fretless project to me. :bassist:

Any idea what shipping might be from AL to NC?

Got a way to box it up nice and safe?

I'm not sure about shipping costs, some quotes I've gotten have been upwards of $100, which seems unreasonably high to me. LMK your zip code (PM me if you want) and I can try to get a more specific number.

I've got a some box options to ship. I have gig bags for both basses and my plan is to use bubble wrap and some additional cardboard to sort of 'armor' the gig bag. Then use filler to stabilize in the big box.

Thanks. Zip is 28314 (Fayetteville NC aka The Ghetto  )

Yeah .. That seems very high. It might exceed what I have budgeted.

Oh ... wiring, preamp, switching, etc all good, or is it going to need some work?

Looks like UPS is the cheapest at around $80. There's a handling surcharge that bumps the price because one dimension of the box is more than 48", can't get around that though.

Edit: Might be able to do FedEx ground for a bit cheaper.

It's likely ground shipping will be a similar cost for most of CONUS, for any other interested buyers.

Everything is functioning well, as far as I can tell. The 1825 had the volume/tone pot harness replaced as well as well as the battery clip, both by local techs (I don't do electronics ;) ).

Sound wise, I absolutely love this preamp. The EQ points are spot on, IMO, and the 3 position select switch for the mids is very useful. The passive/active switch gives an emergency option if the battery goes out on a gig (and then the treble control because a passive tone control), but IMO the magic in these basses is the Nordstrand pickups in conjuction with the preamp. If I have time in the next day or two I'll make a quick video to demonstrate some of the sounds from both basses.

Yeah, I just learned shipping rates have gone up significantly. It was already slightly out of my 'allowance range' for a fretless or fretless donor. So I don't think the boss will go for it. GLWTS though. It's a nice piece. :)

I have a 4-string SR Premium bass with the monorail bridge, and you can adjust string spacing a bit. Each string can be moved side to side a small amount. I'm not sure of the exact amount; it can't be more than a few mm in either direction.

Good to know. I'm all thumbs and don't do my own setups so I'll take your word for it.
