The upright tone is a bit more in the hands of the player. Tape wound strings do help though.

Yes indeed! Mine had D'Addario Tapewounds on it. It could get pretty close to upright, very mellow, deep, resonant.
Not for those who look for bright modern Hi-Fi sounds...

Does anyone seem to have the Vintage reliced one? Can't find one ANYWHERE!!
