Those are my thoughts. But to me it looks more like a mashup of mid 80s and early 90s style elements.

It's a modern instrument that looks badly dated.

It's a "250th USA Anniversary" edition, retailing for around $1300 USD. There's a 4 string version too, for $100 less.

While I dig matching headstocks and block inlays, I'd have to say the whole concept is a bit...odd.
