I recently picked this up from a fellow TB’r and acquired a Sandberg Florence within a day of purchasing it that a good friend tipped me off to. While this bass has a far better range of tones, the Florence has the sweet spot I was looking for. The bass had a complete set up, new nut, fret leveling and dressed on April 1st. Reluctantly, I’m putting this back in the marketplace.
The AGBV200A is an Artcore Vintage Bass series hollow-body electric model introduced by Ibanez in 2016 and discontinued in 2018. It was made in China as part of the standard line. The vintage relic’ing and binding on these models are really well done. Sadly, no one is calling me to walk lines while they comp chords or this would be a keeper.
The bass features a hollow, single-cutaway design with a maple top with dark binding on maple back and sides. The body is very nicely relic-ed creating that warm nostalgic vibe. Mated with a set-in mahogany and maple neck, a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, matching dark binding, and white dot position markers. A pair of Classic Elite Bass passive pickups provide a range of vintage tones. The bridge is a Tune-o-matic style Gibraltar III bridge with and Quick Change stop tailpiece, Sure Grip III knobs, a plastic nut, and Ibanez tuners.
Bass The World (shout-out to Gregor for his site) shows off the range of tones in this link:
