ibanez atk 300 1st edition (1995)(opinions)

I own 2 90's ATK's (300 which I defretted and 305 which is my main bass). They're great basses. If weight is an issue for you they are often heavy (my 300 is light and appears to be basswood rather than ash, but most of the 300 series including my 305 are quite heavy ash). The range of sounds is good, the playability is good, if you like fatter rather than skinnier necks.

£300 is about twice what I paid for mine, but they are MIK not MIJ and it was some years ago.

Thanks! That is awesome. I've thought about doing that to my 700 since they don't make them fretless anymore.

I was inspired to do this because my brother got an absolute steel on an original 300F fretless (which he's since sold :rollno:), and it was so good, when I got a line on a cheap 300 I defretted it. The 300F's had rosewood boards, so not so flash for roundwounds, but I really like flats on fretless anyway.

Exactly how much I got my Japanese one for, if it's built like mine you won't regret it. Alot of people say there isn't much difference in the build quality between the 90s/2000s and the Korean/Japanese ATKs but I've played a couple of pretty cheap feeling new 300s and the 400 I played a while ago didn't feel too great either, sounded pretty cool though.

Anyway it's at least £100 cheaper then a new one anyway which I reckon this will at least equal to if not probably better then a new one anyway, never heard a complaint out of anyone that owns a Japanese ATK.
