the prestige line in particular is exceptional in quality.

I have an Ibanez GSR200 that I've owned for 1.5 years. I absolutely LOVE it! It is so light and the tone is just stunning for a $200 bass guitar. I've played an Ibanez SR506
6-string which is an equally fantastic bass. You know a brand is high-quality when even there budget instruments are amazing. Ibanez basses show no compromises IMHO!

I've got an SR900 which is quality. I love the sound and there's been no issues with it in the 2 years i've had it. Great Bass!

To me, the thing about ibanezes is their playability. Not the fact that the necks are thin and flat, but the strings just seem to contact the frets with incredible ease. I havent experienced this on another bass yet.

IMO, the Prestige series is the best bang for the buck.

I'll never (uh-oh) sell mine, and will probably buy a 5 and 6 string version as well.

I play an Ibanez RD505... pretty good bass. It works perfectly for my metal band. I boost the bass very slightly and I boost the treble and play with a pick. Gives me a great full tone that fills the bottom end and also lets me cut through the thick layer of 7 string guitars. The preamp is a little noisy but that can be replaced. I would do some upgrades on it but I'll probably upgrade to a better bass this year.
