Ibanez mikro 5 string bass

I don't gig with my mikro normally but on small jam sessions it's just perfect. We also have some friends that do bus tours. We play Cajun music on the tours while we're rolling down the highway. The Mikro coupled up with the Roland battery operated amp gets the job done well. The bass has been a good player and I'll always have one.

They stopped making the white Mikro 5 awhile back. Good luck finding one. I have a black and have tried getting the white for some time, even offering a couple here above what they paid for it new but no one wants to sell. That should tell you how good these basses are when no one will sell them ABOVE what they paid for them.

I have this strung to EADGC tuning for playing jazz. I found that this range is also my vocal range. Being able to play what you sing is a bit easier in the same octave rather than have to sing an octave higher than the bass when improvising.

Also, it gives me the range of a tenor saxophone. I have always loved the tenor notes and now I can play them.

Lastly, the higher notes sound better, fuller, with the c-string rather than higher on the g-string for the same pitch. I am now able to play better jazz solos as a result. Thank you Ibanez.
