I tried an RD600 today and was a very impressed. It is the same as a RD500 except it has an ash body instead of a mahogany one. The ash body livens this bass considerably compared to the mahogany version. Even with the stock MK-1 Barts, this bass got a fantastic modern tone. It reminded me of an MTD KZX5 I played last month except that it was $599 instead of $1,795. If anyone wanted to retrofit this bass with American Barts and preamp, that person would have an absolute monster.
