Ibanez SR1205 Premium

the big singles can definetly give you some growl, I tried a 1200 but I like the tone of my 1800 a little better, it has a thicker top of walnut and rosewood that I think gives an improvement over the thin veneer that you get on the 1200, im not a big fan of the soft species of mahogany that Ibanez uses on these basses so the more of it that gets replaced by the top wood the better for me.
I got a real good deal on my sr1800 from sweetwater and they have real pics of the bass your buying on line

Hi,

Thinking about getting one of those, I'd like to know if between the wood combination and the Nordstrand pickups it is possible to get some "growl" out of it, an aggressive tone...

Anyone have any experience with that series ?
I love the look of my 1200 Premium, but the noise from the Nordies drives me nuts.
