Hello, this is my first post so I guess I should introduce myself. So, my dad gave me his old Kramer when I was 12 and I've been playing it ever since (I'm 22 now). I couldn't afford to get myself something better, and the old thing did the job fine, until recently I've been invited to join a pretty serious project, and I'll be needing something that is a little more reliable. With a tight budget, after a lot of research I have found Ibanez SR300 to be the best option. Just when I was about to buy it, I found out that Ibanez relesead a new model, called SR300E, and people seem to be quite happy with it. The new one has a mahagony body (old one has agathis) and upgraded electornics, including a new 3-way power tap switch.
So here's my problem: I'm from Serbia and the new model won't be available here for some time, and simply oredring it online won't do, since the shipping and customs fees would blow my budget.
How better exactly the new model is compared to the old one? Is it a huge upgrade? Has anyone played it? Is it worth the trouble of getting it (contacting friends abroad or something) or would it be worth the extra money? Buying a new bass is a huge thing for me, so I'd appreciate any help, thanks!
