I am looking at purchasing an Ibanez SR820. Wondering if anyone on here has any experience with this model. Would love to hear the good the bad and the ugly on this one.

Ibanez SR820

I recently got a SR1605 which is similar to the 800. I did try the 800 but I fell in love with the different sound the pickups give to the 1605. So ended up getting the 1605. It's a very light bass comfortable to play. Very fast and much easier to play due to the little distance between the strings. If you can't afford the 1600 or if you like the look of the 800 series I would def recommend upgrading the pickups latter on

What is the difference between the SR800 and SR820?
The model you posted is what I believed to be an SR800 which is a fantastic bass! Very fast neck, comfortable body and profile. My only complaint like others have said was the lack of growl which I found in the SR700. Now that I think of it, The SR800 that I played did not have the usual Barts in it and instead of Nordys.
I can't tell you how many times I've almost bit the bullet in an SR700 or SR800.

their is no sr820 listed on the Ibanez website so I don't think their is one at all. I think the op just confused it with the 800.
the Ibanez basses are killer basses but like others have said the cheep bart pickups kind of suck other than that they are pretty well made except for the crapy fretwork they do on the sub premium basses, iv'e never heard of another builder that calls dressing the sharp edges of the frets a "premium treatment". seriously Ibanez what the hell is that about??
I do love the way my sr500 plays now that the frets are dressed properly though so im going to chuck the pickups and preamp and reroute for emg's and an agiular and see haw that sounds.
