Check out the original bass whammy. A lot of its settings are not included on the current model.

The WH-1 and the WH-4 both have like the same settings. The Whammy II is almost the same as the WH-1, except it's missing some settings. The bass whammy has some unique settings that unfortunately didn't make it to the current model. And the XP-100 has like every setting.

But hey, you can still play some Tool with the current model. Justin Chancellor only uses like two settings.

I got the idea to include custom presets after using my Dad's Digitech RP-80.

I was also thinking that if I was ever gonna use a whammy pedal on bass, I'd just use it to shift it one octave up. Hell, maybe I wouldn't even rock the pedal back and forth. Of course, a Micro-Pog could do as well.

...honestly, though, I'd probably be willing to buy any new dedicated new Whammy pedal they'd come out with as long as it had the 5thUp/1OctUp setting. I can't believe that didn't make it onto the Whammy 4

I can. The Whammy 4 is not an original model. It's just a WH-1 copy. Well, maybe they should do the same thing for the Bass Whammy.

I know the Whammy 4 is supposed to be a re-release of the WH1, but the 5th/Oct seems like such a great/useful mode to keep. I mean, they did add other "new" settings to the WH4 that weren't on the WH1--why not this?

Actually, drop-tune is just another way of saying "2nd down" (a setting on the original Whammy) and Dive Bomb's 3 Octaves down. Dive Bomb is pointless to me, because guitarists could just use 2 octaves down.

But yeah, they should re-release the Whammy II and the Bass Whammy as well as the WH-1. My idea's good too.

they should just do your idea and forget the rest of those, it would be the end-all-be-all of whammys
