Ideas for sweep techniques...

Hey all,

I've always been a bit of a 'journeyman'when it comes to writing bass lines for music, and am always keen to throw something out of left field into a song, provided its musically valid. In saying that, I've always wanted to be able to do a kind of sweep thing, almost like a flourished arpeggio (forgive the wierd terminology, i like to make up things in my head), but I can't get my head arounds the techniques I could use to pull something like that off, whether they be tapped, or swept using the right hand thumb, or a combo of both. I was wondering if anyone in here had any ideas on what techniques I could practice, or any tunes I could learn to help me with this. Cheers friends,

Jim :)
