Quick story...
A few months ago I contacted Taylor at IE asking if there was a plan to release any more Subterranea pedals. He told me that he planned on releasing an updated version later this year. Great!...I'll wait on the new one.
Fast forward a 6 months...
I contact him again and see if he had a time frame for the new release. Turns out that he won't be releasing a new version any time soon (which was going to be a digital version...I didn't want that anyway...I like analog), but offered to build me a custom Subbteranea. So I go with the copper vein enclosure. When Taylor starts the engraving process, the machine slips and cuts a line in the enclosure (which happened to be the last one he had in stock). So Taylor offers to cut more lines in it and do a "Sun Ray" effect stemming from the switch. So I'm like "yeah cool...a one of a kind pedal from IE!"
Long story short...I should have the custom pedal by the weekend. I asked Taylor if I could share the experience and he said sure...but also mention that this is the last Sub I will be making... He doesn't want to get slammed with special requests.
Excerpt from email...
Hey Brad, your Subterranea shipped out today, and you should be receiving a separate email with your tracking info shortly.
About sharing, it's your pedal so you definitely have the right to share it. This is probably the last one of this design I'll be making though, so if you did want to mention it on Facebook or wherever, you might mention that it was a custom build and the last one so people know it's not coming back into production. I appreciate you asking about that!
Enjoy the pedal! Thanks again and please let me know if you have any questions about it.
