Im gonna make a clear bass guitar

Heres the plan, im gonna cover a spare p bass body up in plastic wrap and cover it with bondo to make a mold of the body

Next after bondo is hard im gonna carefully pull bass away

next put bondo shell together and pour castin craft into the empty mold

after castin craft is set remove bondo and hopfully have clear bass body

this is the plan if it works i be damned

I would really really like some input.

It could be simpler to buy one of the many crappy clear body instruments available on eBay (such as this one) and install proper neck and hardware on it.
I like the concept of clear bodies but they tend to be extremelly heavy and sound like crap.

i have practiced with bondo casts so i can make the finish look right.

as with the weight i dont care too much. i want it mostly for deocration

and i dont wanna buy it i wanna make it, plus i never saw any p basses.

where did u get tht bass all i found are ones tht dont look like p basses

Gruda, instead of the whole mold thing, if you want to build one from scratch, then just buy a big slab of clear plexi and make a body using regular techniques just like any other. The buffing is what gets it clear as glass. By the way, those that have talked about weight are not joking. A P-bass will easily weigh in the neighbourhood of about 20lbs...

That is a great idea, but when i looked i couldnt find anything think enough, and that does sound like the new game plan, and as i said b4 the weight really isnt an issue Im 300 pounds, and its probably gonna live most its life on a wall, so im not too worried.

do anyone know where i can find the plexi? :help:
