Im looking for some purchasing advice

So, I am wanting to buy an upper end bass. I currently own an Urge II and I am looking for either another 4 string or a 6 string. I have looked through the listings for Status Graphite, Foderas, Warriors, Jerzy Drozds, Carvins, and a few others.

What I am looking for is either a four string with a deep warm tone, a 4 string that would be mostly for slap, or a 6 string for funk and tap.

And recommendations? I am looking to spend under $3k.
