Yes. Extremely. If you can afford that rig, I would say go for it! Ashdown is a very highly regarded bass amplifier company.
Othar than that, I would say go to your local music store, and don't be afraid to try every amp and cab that they have in your price range, and find what sounds good to you.
Personally, I have been playing bass in a band for almost three years now, I bought basically the cheapest amp and cab on the market at the time. The Acoustic B200h head, and the B115 cabinet to go with it, which guitar center and musicians friend both still sell as a package deal for around 500 bucks. I personally still love the way this amp sounds, and haven't even thought of upgrading in the several years I've been performing live. As long as you have an amp that is loud enough for you and your band mates to hear your bass on stage, and as long as it gives an accurate representation of what your bass sounds like, then you should be good to go... since the soundman will usually plug a D/I cable directly in to your amp, sending your signal right to the PA speakers at the venue, which means you're basically using your amp as a stage moniter, while the sound of your bass coming through the PA is what the audience will hear. That also reminds me, an amp with a D/I out on the back is a great advantage when it comes to playing live.
Alternatively, it's always an excellent idea to search your local craigslist, etc... for USED gear, because you can find some really great equipment, higher end stuff even, for a much lower price.

I would kinda avoid behringer. I used to run that and an acoustic B115, and the cab was fine, but the head kinda lacked. I was able to get a good tone out of it, but it was pretty wishy washy at best.
I recently upgraded to a mesa 2x10 and 1x15 cab setup with that head, and still wasn't impressed. I would look into an acoustic head or something of similar price for a good starter setup.

Acoustic is a brand that makes amplifiers that are a good value...or so i have heard i personally have never played one.
Thanks Guys Ye of course will tell you what I decide on as I have a marshall 15 watt at moment which aint best but is doing enough. And what is an acoustic head if you dont mind me asking
