I had a guitar that went through strings like crazy. I upgraded the saddles to ones that have graphite inserts where the strings contact them and the problem went away. You should have a look at your bridge, nut, any string trees, and tuners to see if you have burrs as someone mentioned. Also be careful not to kink the strings when wrapping them on the tuner. If you're still breaking a lot of strings, you might need to adjust your technique to something less violent. I do a bit of slapping (not tons) and haven't broken a bass string in many years.

Could be your technique in the way you put them on!

... Or, it could be your bass too. Where are the strings breaking. If you have any burrs on the bridge or on the nut, it may be causing a concentrated stress point on the string which may be leading to a premature fatigue failure.

Have you tried Elixirs? Not everyone likes them but they outlast almost anything on the market.

I used to do the same with strings back when I first started playing. I think it was the fact that I wasn't taking care of my bass or string and my technique was awful. Just awful. Not saying yours is, but mine was.

I've been playing off and on for the past 14 years and hardly ever burn through strings now. I've had the same DR strings on my Stingray for 2 months and they are still good. I play everyday for at least 15-20 minutes. Now that's not as much as some of your average players, but it's still enough to crap strings out. Maybe you need to try a different brand?
Rub the strings down with a micro fiber cloth after each use.
Wash your hands before playing.

Honestly, I could kill rounds in two days.. Must be my acidic sweat. It really hurt me $$ as I love clear bright fresh strings on my Spector NS-2J.. PLus, what a pain in the a#* to change strings
and boil etc. etc.

Elixirs have been the answer. They last me months, a true answer and worth every penny extra for initial cash output. I giggle every time I pull the bass out of the case and "flick" a string.
