In-ear monitor help

I'd like to try an in-ear setup but I know very little on the subject. I did search around and figured out what I basically want but I still have some questions.

My goal: I want to reduce the general volume while playing to make it easier on the ears, and I want a more clear sound from the band and I (instead of the blasting through amps and wedges)

I want to go wired and not too expensive (I can't try before I buy).

I'm looking at the Rolls PM351 and Shure E2. They seem to be decent enough quality for not a lot of money. A 2-in-1 cable would be very practical, so I'm looking at this: Invalid Link Removed Will the cable be compatible with the PM351 and E2? If not, could I get some sort of adapter for it?

The PM351+Shure E2+Fischer cable seems like a good beginner setup. I'm not THAT picky on sound quality etc so no need for $4000 systems for me.

I know the 351 inside and out...

There really isn't another option without spending over $1000

To get started.. just tape an instrument cable to a IEM extention cable.

Spend the money to get the stage stand.

Contrary to what folks believe, you can go "through" to an amp.

I play one of these frequently with zero issues.

Thanks for the replies. I've bought the Shure SCLE-2, the new version of the E2. Plugged them in my amp and they sound great. It's like your listening to a recording of yourself except it's in real time. The Rolls and extension cable are on backorder (out of stock in Europe). Thanks for the advice Tim.

TimmyP, you're absolutely right. Getting feedback or sudden loud noise right into your ears scares me. I'm going to place a small multifx between the mixer signal and the Rolls input. That includes a limiter, that should be enough to protect my ears right? Thanks guys.

I've never had an issue with needing a limiter...

When you get them.. PM me for some comments.. there are wasy to make the transition easier.
