In love with new DNA DNS112N Cab!

Alright-- For all you cab junkies out there.
I went and did a massive bass cab a/b test for my new home practice/modular gig cab.
I played all the following A/b: (and was literally sweating as this was a 1.5 hour experience - Thanks to Jim at ATL Bass Gallery - GREAT SHOP!!)
Berg HD112
Epifani UL210
Aguilar GS410
Markbass NY121 (at home)
DNA DNS112N (Not micro)
DNA DNS112Micro

What did I come back? with DNA DNS112N-
The two tops for 12 inch from my test were the Berg and the DNA
The DNA edged out the BERG for a couple of reasons in my opinion- Weight and Front tweeter control and sweetness in the high end

Overall the BERG was a little louder but in my opinion would not cut quite as well as the DNA has more mids. Definetely is a more heavy unit to carry.
(Note all of these sounded good thru the GB SL 900, and the DNA sounds SWEET thru my AGuilar TH 500 at home)

The EPI 210 was real solid as well but in my opinion won't cut as well in a band situation.

I freaking LOVE this cabinet so far.

Of note I forgot one other I did in my shootout- Bag End 15- Not bad at all, but way bigger. Good low bass on that one as well but not as amazing sounding as the DNA.

Good on the low bass- very tight (not super low like reggae low, this wouldn't be the best cab for that style)- I play 4-string and sometimes d-tune to low D- I am not sure how it would do with B& C on the 5-string I am not sure about- but it handles my personal range real well.

One thing about this cabinet- you need to be good as you will hear most everything you do with it (pick technique and finger style, nice for dead notes and harmonics) Not bad on fret noise at all , and I have the tweeter at mid position. Tweeter controls belong on the front like this has, Great idea, the handles on it are super cool as well. About 10 pounds lighter than the Berg HD12.

Thanks, probably would not be good for me. I play 5 string and started 45 years ago.

I got two DNS112N and I love them.
Wait till you used it for some time.
After about 30 hours the sound opens up and the bottom end increases.
Killer!

Sweet! I feel like I have been to the mountain- One thing that is so nice on this- is I am a/bing it with my markbass NY121 and the tweeter is SOO Much smoother and usueable on this baby.
Also with the better mids, I can lighten up on my fingerstyle playing.
The only 12 that gave it a run at the shop was the Berg HD12- but I actually got back 20 feet from both and the DNA projects like a mother!!
DO you know if this cab can be run vertical in either a single config or dual?

I have run mine both vertical and horizontal. Rocks both ways.


As mentioned, after 25-30 hours it does open up noticeably after break in.
