Inactive members

Don't really know where to post this...

Occasionally I see a post from someone who is shown as "inactive" with a strikethrough on their username.

What does this mean? Does it show up if they don't post for a long time, or is there some other meaning?

They’ve either quit the site and deactivated their account.or been banned for (generally) repeated infractions.
Their posts (again, generally) remain up because to remove them would fragment the conversation in whatever thread in which they are posted.

It's actually just banned. If someone contacts the help desk to deactivate their account, it will just say something like "Guest" under the username.
