Inbetween attire?

I disagree about the untucked look, usually just looks sloppy IMO.

Alpha gives a pretty good primer on whether or not to tuck a collared shirt:

One tip if you tuck, however, is to always wear a belt, even if you don't functionally need the belt. A tucked shirt without a belt just looks terrible IMHO, with the one notable exception being a tucked shirt with a suit. You generally don't wear a belt with a suit (although I've seen people break this rule).

While I appreciate anything so versatile, I loathe it snooty roots. Band t-shirts till I die I suppose. Gf be damned!

I will rock an OCBD with beat to hell Chucks or Oxblood Docs at times. Stickin' it to The Man!

It isn't so much of a rule with the suit. I prefer buttons and braces though.

Hey RS, what size shirt do you wear? I have some Polo OCBDs that will never fit me, could give you some to see how you like them.

That is generous of you, thanks, but I honestly I don't think I'd get very far with them. Some back story, I associate them with private school dress code, which I didn't really enjoy on the whole (but certainly other people fared worse).

I recon you are right sir. I guess I always assumed there was more to men's shirts, but no.

Nah. You got the oxford's you don't seem to care for, either. As far as an in between shirt, that's really about it. Maybe a nice, plain T with a sports jacket could pass, but I wouldn't wear that in the summer.

It has become very apparent that I need some type of clothing that falls between home gear (t shirt/jeans or shorts) and work clothes (tie, shirt, slacks or suit) but I can't find anything that appeals to me. No offense to anyone, but I am not a fan of polos or those plaid short sleeved collared button down department store shirts. Other options?
In between attire. What prompted the need for this new wardrobe zone that you didn't have before? It's not like you are going on a space elevator or anything? Are you? No. You need space elevator attire? ;) I mean, why didn't you say so in the first place? :hyper:
You've come to the right place. :bassist:
First, you'll need to get a kilt. Everything goes with a kilt on a space elevator. It's so good, it might even replace shorts and/or jeans in your "at home" attire wardrobe. Thumbs up bro.
Next, the shirt. Any billowy, button-up pirate shirt will do. Going to a space elevator formal event, then get a tuxedo shirt and bow tie.
Going to a caber tossing competition, same thing bro. YEAH!!!
