Ok here's one for ya. After installing Cakewalk Sonar Studio 6 on my M-Audio 410, I recorded two tracks of guitar and one track of bass just to mess around with things. But when I played back the tracks I noticed that the bass track was really down in the mix. So I maxed out the trim on the bass tracks and went down a fair amount of trim on the guitars. I thought that the volume was equal on all the tracks when I recorded them. I recorded all the bass direct into the 410 while the guitar tracks went through a couple of effects pedals before the 410. Where did I go wrong to have the bass so obscured by the guitars? I'll admit it's been a while since I've done any recording and this is my first time flying solo, but I've never encountered a situation like this before. Normally my basses have been to booming. Maybe it's because I'm using extra light gauge strings as opposed to standard gauge strings on the bass? HELP!!!!
