Installation (NOT a wiring question!)

OK! The pickup (a Seymour Duncan STK-J1b) came with 4 screws and 4 rubber sleeves. I deduced that the sleeves go around the screws to provide a spring-like action to raise the pickup when you loosen the screws.

The sleeve/screw configuration does a FINE job of supporting and/or adjusting the pickup COVER ...but what the h**l supports the pickup CORE!!? If I put it together this way, there will be nothing to keep the pickup core from dropping down 1/8 of an inch or so into the body cavity!

Am I missing something?

Please help.

I guess then the question is:

Why wouldn't the "foam" be supplied with pickup (especially since they offer NOTHING by way of actual installation instructions). If there'd have been "foam" in the package I wouldn't have had to bother UBU with my STUPID question!

Anybody know where to get said "foam"?

Go to the hardware store and pick up some weather-seal foam- it comes in a roll, it's peel-n-stick- cut it to length, stack a few if you need more height.
