I have my profile set to notify me via e-mail when a topic I'm subscribed to has a new post, but I never get any e-mails. What's up?

Instant Notification Doesn't Happen

Check your spam folder. Every time I've thought i was missing emails from anywhere, it turned out I had accidentally marked one as spam, causing them to all be sent there.
Thought of that, but I searched my gmail spam folder for "talkbass" and found nothing.

Try registering a temporary gmail address, and see if it works. I'm guessing gw**.net has tagged TalkBass emails as spam on the server side.
HAHAHAA. It's much worse than that. My e-mail address was set incorrectly. Completely my bad. It works now. The gw**.net address was my old one. Boy, am I a doofus.
Same thing is happening to me! I came into this section for the first time to post about it. Have been receiving email updates for years then overnight, nothing.
Well, I don't know if this will help you, but in my case I had set my e-mail address incorrectly in my profile (to an old address); changing it to my present e-mail address fixed the problem for me.
