Interesting phone call with Musicians Friend

So i attempted to order 2 gigbags off of stupid deal but was a minute or so late if that and was charged full price. So I called to cancel, after I explained to the CSA what happened he canceled it without even attempting to offer a discount of some form, which i would have taken. Should I feel odd about this?

2 you didn't ask for a discount, you asked for a cancellation. They obliged

Tough crowd! I agree OP. A lot of better run retail music stores would have made the discount happen. A solution should have been offered.

MF seems to be getting more desperate or aggressive, depending how you feel about it.

I'll put stuff in my cart, mess around in checkout to see what the total damage will be. And leave it hanging….Just to see if they throw out a sweetener.

Lately, that will get me a follow up email, but no discount offer. I'll pass on that.

I rarely buy anything new, but had somehow accumulated about $80 worth of points. They expire completely if you don't buy anything in six months. So I'll buy a set of guitar strings or a pack of picks for a few bucks to keep things current.

That was getting old, so I finally spent the whole credit on a Big Muff Pi. It's pretty cool.

Then I unsubscribed. Enough already.

I mean, he gave the customer exactly what they called in to ask for...cancellation. Other options might had been nice, but i am not really seeing the issue here.

If OP had asked them to extend the discount, they l8kely would have done so.

Recently I wanted to get a Rock n Roller cart. I found the same model on Amazon for a cheaper price. I called Sweetwater, and they immediately matched the price when I asked.

Or not, but it's certainly worth trying. I've gotten a discount a day late on SW -- but only because I called up and asked for it

A solution was offered. That solution was exactly what the customer asked for.

They'd have been within their rights to refuse the cancelation; the error clearly wasn't theirs.
