Internal Speaker Not Working! Help meeee!

Hey there everybody!

I've got a Gallien Krueger mbe112 and I can't get the internal speaker working!

it was crackling and cutting out and I took off the amp and shot it full of air to get the dust out. I then put it back on, and moved all the knobs to clear out anything that might be in them. I shot some contact cleaner on a 1/4 inch plug and used that to clean the 1/4 inch jacks.

Now it will turn on, no crackling, no cutting out, but only the headphone jack will give me sound! I haven't tried it yet with an external speaker cabinet.

Any ideas? I get a new guitar tomorrow and really want to be able to play it.

Thanks so much!

Something easy you could try would be inserting any known good guitar cord into your two effects send and return jacks. (if equipped) If this makes your amp suddenly work correctly again, let us know.

If that didn't help, your problem could still could be somewhere in the combos poweramp section or the speaker and its wiring. Try an external speaker cabinet. If you dont have access to one, take your combo to a music store, dont tell them your having problems, just say you want to try out a cab with your combo powering it.

Good luck... :)

take a 9volt battery and touch both ends to the speaker wires to see if the woofer moves. if it doesnt move you've got speaker probs. if it moves you've got wiring problems.... also, check to see if you have a fused line to the speaker, that may be blown or the crackling may have been the symptoms and the cure may be recone or replace.... good luck
