Double Bass International Luthiers Supply

Hello,
Does anybody knows the International Luthiers Supply oil varnish? I look for an easy to apply oil varnish and I have found this one.

Regards

I have used their varnish, and I like it OK-- but the colors are not very lightfast, or something...the dark brown will give you a nice blond after the fading is done. Count on glazing.

The other issue (and I say this sadly, as I have done business with them for years, and would like to continue to do so) is that they have gotten slower and slower about delivery.

No-- not softer-- When I applied the "Dark Brown" oil varnish, it was a gorgeous brown that I really liked. I thought "Ah! That's what I want!"...but in the morning, the varnish was yellow-orange. So I applied another coat...same thing happened, and after six or so coats, I realized the color was not going to hold, so I gave it up.

I do like a lot of their products. You might consider buying their "Finishing kit" which has a wide range of colors, and other materials in one kit for (back then) less than $40. You can try all the varnishes on smooth scrap wood, spruce, and maple both, and see what you think-- if you like them, go back and order a pint can. :-)

Good luck with it all.
