Intonation issue

Greetings all. I have an issue with my MIM Fender jazz whereby if I set the intonation at the octave on the E string correctly, the notes at the lower fret positions are slightly sharp. The higher I go on the neck the less sharp the notes are . Has anyone else had this issue, and if so how did you deal with it?

Have you tried setting the intonation at 5 and 17? I saw a video from Carl at Lakland and it is supposed to be more precise, especially if you are playing chords. I don't know if that will solve your problem but it can't hurt. Good luck!
