Intonation

Please read the threads which are stickied at the top of this forum. If those aren't helpful, you can find many excellent step-by-step guides to setup and intonation on the web by searching for "how to set up a bass" or "how to intonate a bass". No need for us to repeat them here.

Like Pilgrim said, that will be your best option.

If there's something that you don't understand, or aren't sure what it means, I don't think anyone would mind you asking.

Good luck! I'm willing to bet everyone was a little confused the first time they did a "set up", but after you do it once (right).....you'll never pay to have it done again......

Reading your question, I'mnot sure you understand what "intonation" actually is.

I think he's just starting out. The first time I picked up a guitar I'd heard the term but had no idea what it was, either. If you don't ask, you never find out.

I'm sure he'll be checking back, so to make it easier for him, you don't tune a guitar using intonation; intonation is part of the tuning process. It's not a method used to tune a guitar but rather part of the process.
