Inverted P/J Pups?

I don't think anything is stopping that pickup combination from happening other than a lack of interest. People usually like the j bridge sound and the p mid/neck sound, rather than the other way around. I'm actually not sure I've ever heard a p pickup in the bridge, though I have seen it before.

Agreed. I've seen any number of J/MM setups, but I don't think I've ever run across a J/P. I'm sure someone somewhere has done one, but nothing comes to mind.

Not sure how that would sound.

Huh. So it seems JP basses are a thing after all

the 77B-X (ca 1984) and the X-99B
